چکیده
Abstract. Greenhouse-gas-driven global temperature change projections exhibit spatial variations, meaning that certain land areas will experience substantially enhanced or reduced surface warming. It is vital to understand regional warming anomalies as they locally increase heat-related risks human health and ecosystems. We argue tropospheric lapse-rate changes play a key role in shaping the future summer pattern around globe mid-latitudes tropics. present multiple lines of evidence supporting this finding based on idealized simulations over Europe, well climate model ensembles. All consistently show vertical distribution different regions characterized by Enhanced projected where are small, implying upper troposphere similar On other hand, strong cause concentration near surface. The varying magnitude governed dependence moist-adiabatic lapse rate available humidity. conclude should be considered along with processes when assessing causes patterns.

Investigation of snow cover changes affected by climate change In North West of Iran
In this study in order to monitor snow cover, the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) optical images were used, while for detection of snow covered areas, the snow index-NDSI, was applied. The results showed - according to the climatic conditions of the region- during the following months: December, January, February and March, most of the area is covered by snow and the max...
متن کاملSoil respiration under climate change: prolonged summer drought offsets soil warming effects
Climate change may considerably impact the carbon (C) dynamics and C stocks of forest soils. To assess the combined effects of warming and reduced precipitation on soil CO2 efflux, we conducted a two-way factorial manipulation experiment (4 °C soil warming + throughfall exclusion) in a temperate spruce forest from 2008 until 2010. Soil was warmed by heating cables throughout the growing seasons...
متن کاملProjected Future Seasonal Changes in Tropical Summer Climate
The authors analyze changes in the tropical sea surface temperature (SST), surface wind, and other fields from the twentieth to the twenty-first century in climate projections using the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project phase 3 (CMIP3) multimodel ensemble, focusing on the seasons January–March (JFM) and July–September (JAS). When the annual mean change is subtracted, the remaining ‘‘seasona...
متن کاملTesting Paradigms of Ecosystem Change under Climate Warming in Antarctica
Antarctic marine ecosystems have undergone significant changes as a result of human activities in the past and are now responding in varied and often complicated ways to climate change impacts. Recent years have seen the emergence of large-scale mechanistic explanations-or "paradigms of change"-that attempt to synthesize our understanding of past and current changes. In many cases, these paradi...
متن کاملScenario dependence of future changes in climate extremes under 1.5 °C and 2 °C global warming
The 2015 Paris Agreement aims to limit global warming below 2 °C and pursue efforts to even limit it to 1.5 °C relative to pre-industrial levels. Decision makers need reliable information on the impacts caused by these warming levels for climate mitigation and adaptation measures. We explore the changes in climate extremes, which are closely tied to economic losses and casualties, under 1.5 °C ...
